By using Car Advisor, you agree to these Terms of Use. No checkbox or account acceptance process is currently used. The appropriate acceptance mechanism and final wording remain subject to qualified legal review.
What Car Advisor provides
Car Advisor is an informational vehicle-research and decision-support tool. It may combine VIN decoding, vehicle specifications, market information, recalls, owner complaints, manufacturer communications and technical service bulletins, efficiency information, vehicle-history-related research, available ownership-cost estimates and vehicle-comparison logic. Coverage and availability vary by vehicle and data source.
Informational purpose
Car Advisor provides research assistance, not a professional determination or a guarantee. Outputs such as “Worth Considering,” “Review Before Buying,” “Research Further” and “Proceed Carefully” summarize available evidence to support your own decision. They do not certify condition, safety, reliability, value or suitability.
Vehicle condition and independent inspection
Car Advisor does not physically inspect vehicles and cannot determine the condition of an individual vehicle. Before purchasing, consider the verification appropriate to your situation, such as an independent pre-purchase inspection, service and maintenance records, title or history records, an exact-VIN recall lookup, seller documentation, a test drive and professional mechanical evaluation.
VIN and specification accuracy
VIN decoding and configuration data may be incomplete, unavailable, conflicting, delayed, incorrectly associated or model-level rather than exact-vehicle-level. Independently verify material facts such as trim, drivetrain, engine, towing, seating and cargo capacity. A trim entered or selected by a shopper is not presented as VIN-confirmed.
Recalls and safety information
Recall research may initially operate at the year, make and model level. Car Advisor may use known configuration evidence to help assess relevance, but a displayed recall is not necessarily applicable to the exact VIN, and the absence of a displayed recall does not guarantee that no open recall exists. Broad, conditional and known-configuration mismatch classifications are research aids—not authoritative manufacturer or government determinations—and do not certify vehicle safety.
Verify exact-VIN recall status with the appropriate manufacturer or dealer and official government recall resources before relying on recall information.
Owner complaints and service bulletins
Owner complaints are reports that may be incomplete and are not population-adjusted reliability rates. They do not establish that every vehicle has a reported problem, and zero reports do not prove reliability.
Technical service bulletins and manufacturer communications are not safety recalls and do not establish that a specific vehicle has a defect. Applicability may depend on trim, equipment, software, drivetrain, production date or other configuration that requires separate verification.
Market value and Deal Quality
Market values are estimates and may reflect dealer asking-price information rather than completed transaction prices. Actual prices vary with location, mileage, condition, configuration, options, title and history, supply, demand, fees and negotiation. Deal Quality is a research aid, not an appraisal, and Car Advisor does not guarantee that a vehicle can be bought or sold at a displayed value.
Ownership costs and financial information
Fuel, electricity, financing, maintenance and other available ownership calculations are estimates. Actual costs vary and a feature may exclude taxes, fees, repairs, insurance, depreciation or other expenses. Independently evaluate affordability and the assumptions used. Car Advisor does not provide individualized financial, lending, insurance, tax or legal advice.
Insurance, financing and future third-party services
Car Advisor does not issue insurance policies, make loans or currently generate partner insurance quotes or loan offers. Current partner URLs are not active, and no existing commercial relationship is claimed. Car Advisor may offer third-party links or introductions in the future; any compensated or referral relationship will receive appropriate disclosure before it becomes active.
Third-party data and services
Car Advisor relies on public and third-party sources that may include NHTSA, Vehicles.dev, fueleconomy.gov and EPA data. Their information and services may contain errors, omissions or delays or may become unavailable. Car Advisor does not guarantee third-party accuracy or availability and does not claim ownership of third-party or government data.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when using the research tools.
- Independently verify vehicle facts that materially affect your decision.
- Use Car Advisor lawfully and without interfering with its operation.
- Do not attempt unauthorized access to Admin, server or database systems.
- Do not submit personal, contact or sensitive information through optional feedback.
Acceptable use
Normal personal vehicle research and reasonable use are welcome. Do not use Car Advisor unlawfully, maliciously exploit it, intentionally submit harmful payloads, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with service operation, or use scraping or automation in a way that materially overloads or disrupts the service.
Intellectual property
The Car Advisor interface, original text, software and branding are protected to the extent applicable. Vehicle names and trademarks, government materials, provider data and other third-party content remain subject to the rights of their respective owners. These Terms do not claim ownership over government or third-party data.
Service availability and changes
Car Advisor and its beta features may change. Features or data sources may be added, revised or removed, and maintenance, outages or interruptions may occur. Continuous or uninterrupted availability is not promised.
No warranty
Car Advisor and its information are provided for informational purposes on an “as available” basis and may contain errors or omissions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Car Advisor does not make guarantees about accuracy, completeness, availability, vehicle condition, safety, reliability or purchasing outcomes. Final warranty language requires qualified legal review.
Limitation of liability
You remain responsible for vehicle-purchase decisions and independent verification. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Car Advisor is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on incomplete, unavailable or inaccurate research information. No arbitrary monetary cap or jurisdiction-specific waiver is stated here. Final limitation language requires qualified legal review.
Indemnification decision
These draft Terms do not include a broad indemnification obligation. Whether a proportionate provision is appropriate remains a qualified legal-review decision.
Disputes and governing law — legal review required
No governing law, venue, arbitration requirement, class-action waiver or jury-trial waiver has been selected. Those decisions require explicit approval and qualified legal review before production publication.
Children
Car Advisor is a vehicle-research service and does not intentionally collect information from children. No minimum age is stated pending qualified legal review.
Privacy
The Car Advisor Privacy Policy describes current information practices and provides the privacy contact for questions and data requests.
Restriction of access
Because Car Advisor does not have shopper accounts, there is no account-suspension process. Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, service integrity or legal requirements.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change as Car Advisor evolves. Updates will be posted with a revised effective or last-updated date. Car Advisor does not promise email notice because it does not collect shopper email addresses for that purpose.
